Petrol, Diesel Price On May 16: Petrol and diesel prices were hiked by Rs 3 per litre each on Friday, marking the first increase in more than four years, as state-run fuel retailers passed on part of the hit from surging global crude prices triggered by the Iran war.

Alongside, CNG prices in cities like Delhi and Mumbai were raised by Rs 2 per kg.

In Delhi, petrol prices climbed to Rs 97.77 per litre from Rs 94.77, while diesel rates rose to Rs 90.67 per litre from Rs 87.67. Fuel prices differ from state to state due to varying VAT charges.

Petrol Prices In Major Cities After Hike

After the latest revision, petrol prices stood at Rs 97.77 per litre in New Delhi, Rs 108.74 in Kolkata, Rs 106.68 in Mumbai, and Rs 103.67 in Chennai, according to PTI report.

Among NCR cities, petrol is being sold at Rs 98.42 per litre in Gurgaon and Rs 97.97 in Noida. In Bengaluru, petrol prices touched Rs 106.17 per litre.

Diesel Rates Across Cities

Diesel prices also witnessed a similar jump. In Delhi, diesel now costs Rs 90.67 per litre, while Kolkata recorded Rs 95.13, Mumbai Rs 93.14, and Chennai Rs 95.25 per litre.

In the NCR region, diesel prices stand at Rs 90.89 per litre in Gurgaon and Rs 91.20 in Noida. Bengaluru recorded diesel prices at Rs 94.10 per litre.
