Jagran Correspondent, Ranchi: Two young men attacked the provincial Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office in Ranchi’s Nivaranpur, with petrol bombs on Tuesday night, Jharakhand Police said. The incident was captured on CCTV and occurred at around 12:36 am.

The incident came to light in the morning when volunteers went to the hall and spotted the bottles. The full details of the incident were revealed after viewing CCTV footage. "We have examined the CCTV footage and found some suspicious activity. We are working on those leads. It appears that the suspects hired a private taxi and two persons were involved. We are also pursuing other sources of information," said Ranchi City DSP KV Raman, as quoted by news agency PTI.

Minister of State for Defence Reaches RSS Office

Upon receiving information about the incident, Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi, several BJP MLAs, and hundreds of volunteers arrived.

MoS Defence Sanjay Seth said, "There was a taxi with a yellow number plate parked a little distance away from here, along with two motorcycles. They came on the motorcycles...they came, said something, then tied it, and then threw a bomb that exploded in the air. Then they came again and threw another one, but this time it did not explode on the ground. It broke apart. It was a petrol bomb."

"There is a huge conspiracy to create unrest in Ranchi, a very big conspiracy. By God’s grace, that conspiracy has failed. But we will not allow any conspiracy to succeed. We will not let Ranchi become disturbed, and we will not let Jharkhand be disturbed," he added. 

The SSP has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which includes the City SP, City DSP, DSP (CCD), DSP (Cyber) and other officers. The FSL team and dog squad have also been involved in the investigation.

Earlier, on June 10, Gujarat's police administration and security agencies were put on alert after receiving a threat to bomb the administrative and political centers in the state. Threatening emails were received regarding bomb blasts targeting different important and sensitive places in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. This email implicitly threatens to carry out a series of explosions at different places starting from June 10 to September 30.

Chief Minister's Office (CMO): There was a threat to blow up the CM's office in Gandhinagar.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC): There was also mention of targeting the main municipal office of Ahmedabad.

RSS Office: There was also a threat to blow up the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh office.
