The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is taking action to enhance the accessibility of the soon-to-open Noida International Airport, pushing forward with the construction of the 120-meter-wide road as proposed under the YEIDA Master Plan 2041. Nearly eight kilometres of the corridor have already been built, and the rest will be expanded to connect with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

The plan is intended to alleviate future traffic congestion due to the planned commencement of passenger operations at Noida International Airport on June 15. At present, access to the airport is limited to the Yamuna Expressway. With increasing passenger traffic and the rapid development of industrial, residential and institutional sectors in the YEIDA region, it is predicted that vehicle movement will grow significantly.

Additionally, as part of its comprehensive connectivity initiative, YEIDA is also working on connecting an existing 60-meter-wide road to the airport. Two land acquisition problems associated with the project have been resolved; the acquisition process in Dayanatpur is still ongoing. Moreover, YEIDA has contacted NHAI for the construction of a 130-meter-wide road that will grant access to NH-9.

The proposed 120-meter road is expected to become the third major connector road for the airport. It begins in Dankaur, passes along the boundaries of Sector 18, and then proceeds to the east side of the Yamuna Expressway via the Salarpur underpass. It continues along the expressway in Sectors 24, 24A and 22E, and ultimately connects to the proposed Khurja-Palwal Expressway.

Of the total 15.10-kilometre length planned, eight kilometres have already been completed up to Sector 22E. An additional two kilometres are currently under construction. The remaining 5.10 kilometres will involve the acquisition of land from farmers, and the consent process for this has been initiated.

When finished, the corridor will connect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway directly to Noida International Airport near the Falaida Cut, serving as an alternate entry point to the airport and reducing the burden on the Yamuna Expressway. It will also offer direct access to multiple sectors situated on the right side of the expressway.

YEIDA Chief Executive Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh stated that a major section of the 120-meter road has already been completed and that the connection to the airport is being developed. He also said that the acquisition process has begun for the remaining part of the road.

The 120 and 130-meter-wide roads will comprise the peripheral network for YEIDA. These will ultimately be connected to the proposed Khurja-Palwal Expressway, greatly increasing the region's connectivity.

The 130-meter-wide road will parallel the Yamuna Expressway as an extension of the 130-meter corridor of Greater Noida, providing access to the cargo terminal of the Noida International Airport. The 120-meter-wide road will diverge from the 130-meter-wide road near Dankaur and take the Salarpur underpass to the east side of the Yamuna Expressway, running parallel to it and eventually merging with the Khurja-Palwal Expressway.

Sectors Set to Benefit

More than 13 sectors on the right side of the Yamuna Expressway will directly benefit from this road. These include Sectors 24, 24A, 25, 22A, 22B, 22C, 22D, 22E, 22F, 23A, 23B, 23C, 23D, 23E, and others. These include residential, institutional, and mixed land (industrial) sectors.
