UP Weather: Although Cyclone Arnab has weakened in strength, its after-effects can be felt in several parts of the country, including Uttar Pradesh. The weather in the state changed on October 29, with several areas witnessing rain. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the strong winds and thunderstorms are likely till October 30, particularly in Purvanchal and Vindhya regions.
This could bring down daytime temperatures a bit and give some relief from the lingering hot weather as the state slowly moves towards winter. The intensity of the rain will not be the same everywhere.
The forecast has also raised questions about whether this change in weather could speed up the arrival of winter in the state. Here’s a look at the districts that may receive rain, the expected wind speeds, and how temperatures could be affected.
UP Weather Forecast For October 29
Eastern UP is expected to see the strongest weather activity on October 29. The IMD has indicated the possibility of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds in several parts of the region. Varanasi, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur and Chandauli are among the districts where heavy to very heavy rain is likely. Prayagraj, Bhadohi and Ghazipur may also get heavy showers along with thunderstorms.

Other districts that could be affected include Ballia, Mau, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi and Pratapgarh. Rainfall may not be uniform- some places could see heavier downpours while others get only light rain.
Rain Likely To Continue In These Areas on Oct 30
Rain is expected to continue on October 30 as well, particularly in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Several districts in the Gorakhpur division and nearby areas may see showers and gusty winds. The districts include Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Balrampur and Shravasti.
Rain is also possible in Ballia, Ghazipur, Mau, Azamgarh, Gonda, Bahraich, Ayodhya and Ambedkar Nagar. Parts of western UP could experience thunderstorms and strong winds, though the warnings there may not be as intense as those for the eastern districts.
Apart from the rain, gusty winds could create extra problems in the affected areas. Wind speeds of around 40-50 kmph are possible in several districts, and some places may see even stronger gusts. These conditions can make road travel difficult and raise the risk of falling branches or damage to temporary structures.
