Railways News: Shortly after announcing a special train between Jammu Tawi and Varanasi, the railways cancelled the service until the further update. As per the advisory, the Varanasi-Jammu Tawi (04239) train was scheduled to leave from Varanasi on Thursday, but the service was later cancelled by the authority. However, the other trains on this route will continue to operate, the officials informed.
Trains From Jammu To Varanasi
The Begumpur Express departs Jammu Tawi daily at 1:45 PM, traveling 22 hours and 45 minutes, and arrives at 12:30 PM the next day. Apart from this, the Kolkata Express departs Jammu Tawi daily at 8:30 PM for Calcutta. The train travels 28 hours and 30 minutes, arriving at Varanasi Junction in the afternoon.

In a separate news, the trains from Delhi, Mumbai, and Gujarat to the northern states are already dealing with a shortage of seats. The passengers have complained that confirmed seats are unavailable on several key trains, adding that the waiting lists are also rapidly increasing.
With no or very little availability of the regular services, the passengers are now banking on the festive special trains to visit their homes. The railway has already announced the operation of several special trains on the key routes, with more such announcements likely in the coming weeks. The authority is also likely to add more coaches in the already operating trains to manage the rush.
