Punjab Assembly Elections 2027: With just a few months remaining in the Punjab assembly election, the alliance talks between the BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) are reportedly in the final stage. While there has not been any official announcement, some media reports even suggest that the development might be confirmed soon after Diwali. Earlier in 2020, the SAD exited the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) opposing the controversial three farm laws.
Announcement Soon?
As per a senior SAD leader, the alliance talks are in the final stage, adding that the Sukhbir Singh Badal-led party will play the role of big brother, reported the New Indian Express. While providing details, he further stated that while the SAD is likely to contest 62 of the total 117 constituencies, the saffron party is expected to get 55 seats. He further stated that a formal announcement could be made soon to provide sufficient time for the campaign.

Arvind Kejriwal Takes Dig
While taking a dig at such reports, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated that the alliance would be eighth wonder of the world. "Majithia and Amit Shah ji are extremely close, just like brothers. By allying with Majithia now, Amit Shah ji will eradicate drugs from Punjab. This will be the eighth wonder of the world. Wow, Modi ji, wow. What planning you've done," the AAP leader stated.
