- Rally must end by 5 PM, no overnight stay permitted.
- 3,500 police, over 200 CCTVs for Ramlila Maidan security.
- No provocative speeches or marches from rally venue.
The Delhi Police has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the Congress rally scheduled to be held at Ramlila Maidan on November 1, subject to several conditions. The move comes after Jantar Mantar was ruled out as the protest venue, prompting the Opposition party to shift its rally to the designated site.
The conditions include concluding the rally by 5 pm, prohibiting overnight stays at the venue and installing more than 200 CCTV cameras for security and surveillance.
The Congress had earlier sought permission to hold its Jan-Mahabhiyog programme until November 3. The proposed schedule included an event at Ashoka Hotel on October 30, followed by a Dilli Chalo march and a rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 1. Meanwhile, permission for the event at Ashoka Hotel remains pending.
Police said permission for the mock Parliament event at Ashoka Hotel would depend on the hotel authorities, as the property is privately owned.
The rally is part of the ongoing protests in the national capital over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with the Opposition demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
