Mad Sandhu Murder Case: Amritsar Police Commissioner Harmanbir Singh Gill said the killing of Punjabi social media influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu was a planned crime. Gill, who visited the crime scene, revealed that preliminary probe indicates that the shooters tracked Sandhu before attacking him.
The shooters followed Sandhu and opened fire after he reached the car-washing point, Gill said, adding that the ongoing probe could soon lead to major revelations in the murder case, NDTV reported.

The Punjabi makeup artist was shot dead by two motorcycle-borne unidentified persons on Loharka road, in Amritsar at around 6 pm on Saturday. Two unidentified persons, who were on a motorbike, opened fire at Sandhu and fled the spot. He was attacked when he came to a shop to get his car, which he had given for washing. Around two to three rounds were fired, with an eyewitness saying the social media influencer was shot at close range. A purported video which went viral on social media showed Sandhu lying on the road, blood-soaked, and some individuals were trying to pick him up.

We Have Leads: Police
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Investigation for the Amritsar Commissionerate, Prabhjot Singh Virk said, "Sandhu was shot twice on Loharka Road and died on the spot. The investigation is currently in its initial stages. We have leads and will solve the case very soon; that is all we can say right now. We have recorded their (family) statements, registered an FIR, and initiated the investigation."

Upon receiving information, a police team reached the spot, with the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sirivennela
saying they have some leads and will catch the accused soon.
Motive Of Murder Is Yet To Be Ascertained
However, the motive of the attack was yet to be ascertained. Police said they were working on multiple angles. Sandhu used to speak about make-up artistry and gender issues on podcasts and digital platforms. He had even faced criticism and backlash on social media over his content style and fashion choices.
Nihang Sikh Had Objected To His Social Media Content
A few months ago, a Nihang Sikh had objected to his social media content and his clothing and told him that his videos would have a negative impact on youth. His Instagram account had 2.26 lakh followers and he had even acted in the Punjabi movie 'Oye Bhole Oye'. Congress leader Raj Kumar Verka criticised the AAP government over the law and order issue by citing the latest murder incident in Amritsar.
