Congress MP and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi has been released from detention, two hours after he was detained by the police from the Jantar Mantar area. Gandhi was taken to Barakhamba Police Station after he was stopped from reaching the Jantar Mantar protest site.,

"We want to go inside (the Police Station) with the Chief Minister and MPs. We don't want to break any law. We don't want to do any nonsense. We just want to go and see our leader. LoP is inside. Opposition MPs stage a sit-in at the roundabout near Shangri-La hotel after being stopped from reaching Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. They were later forcibly removed by police and taken to an unknown location in a bus.

Kerala Chief Minister VD Satheesan marched from Kerala House towards the area near Jantar Mantar where INDIA bloc MPs were stopped by the police. He headed to the site to join the protesting MPs.

Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi has been detained, while Priyanka Gandhi was seen lying down after appearing to feel unwell. Opposition MPs alleged that police used force and prevented them from reaching Jantar Mantar.,

Opposition leaders at Jantar Mantar accused the Delhi Police of stopping MPs and protesters from reaching the designated protest site. Congress MP Pawan Khera said protesting at Jantar Mantar was a democratic right and alleged that MPs were being prevented from entering the venue. TMC MP Mahua Moitra questioned the police action against protesters and called for Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. CPI MP P Sandosh Kumar also demanded Kumar’s resignation, saying detention and lathi-charge were not solutions.,
