An IndiGo flight operating from Guwahati to Bengaluru experienced a tail strike during its second landing attempt at Kempegowda International Airport on Sunday amid gusty weather conditions.

What Happened At Kempegowda Airport?
The aircraft, flight 6E 6542, initially attempted to land but executed a go-around due to strong winds. During the subsequent landing attempt, the aircraft's tail struck the runway. The aircraft, however, landed safely, and all passengers and crew members disembarked without injury.
Airline Issues Statement
In a statement, IndiGo said that the aircraft experienced an "Abnormal Runway Contact" while landing during gusty weather at Kempegowda International Airport.
"All customers and crew are safe and have disembarked safely," the airline said, adding that all relevant authorities were informed as part of its standard operating procedures.
Aircraft Grounded For Maintenance
Following the incident, the aircraft was grounded and is undergoing maintenance checks. It will resume operations only after securing the necessary clearances.
To avoid disruption to operations, the airline arranged an alternate aircraft for the subsequent Bengaluru-Coimbatore leg.
"As always, safety of our customers and crew is our top priority," the IndiGo spokesperson said.
DGCA Launches Probe
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has initiated a probe into the tail-strike incident involving the IndiGo aircraft at Kempegowda International Airport. The regulatory authority is currently examining the exact circumstances that led to the incident, India Today reported.

Delhi-Bound IndiGo Flight Returns To London Heathrow Airport
Earlier on Wednesday, Delhi-bound IndiGo flight was forced to turn back to London Heathrow Airport shortly after takeoff following a technical snag, news agency PTI reported, citing sources.
The aircraft, operating flight 6E 4 from London Heathrow to Delhi, had taken off at around 12:40 AM IST on Wednesday. According to tracking data from Flightradar24.com, the aircraft remained airborne for about an hour before making a U-turn and returning to London, landing safely at around 2:00 AM IST.
