At least four people were killed while three others were injured after a fire broke out in a two-story house in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur, causing two gas cylinders to explode. The explosion caused the roof of the two-story house to collapse.
Among the injured, two are out of danger, while another has suffered around 90 per cent burns and is in critical condition.
According to the information, two cooking gas cylinders caught fire at the home of Suresh Gupta, a fruit seller, in Malwan town on Monday evening. The incident sparked panic, sending the fruit seller's wife, Pooja Devi, daughter, Lakshmi Devi, and Lahuri Uma Devi screaming and running out.
A massive explosion then occurred, razing the two-story house to the ground and sending a plume of smoke billowing into the sky.
Soon after the explosion, the villagers rushed to rescue and started clearing the debris. Suresh Gupta's 24-year-old nephew, Alok Gupta, and eight-year-old Ved Gupta died.
His 15-year-old son, Arpit Gupta, 18-year-old Kunal son, Rohit Gupta and a five-year-old neighbour, Tukku, son of Guddan, sustained burn injuries. They were taken to the medical college by ambulance.

CM Yogi directs expediting of relief work
The police team, led by City CO Gaurav Sharma, arrived upon receiving the news. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took note of the gas cylinder blast incident and directed officials to reach the spot and expedite relief work.
He also announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the families of those killed and Rs 50,000 each for the injured. The CM also directed officials to extend all possible assistance to the families of those injured and wished them a speedy recovery.
