- Light rain and winds bring early winter chill to Delhi.
- IMD forecasts clear skies, slight temperature rise next week.
- Delhi's Air Quality Index slips to 'Moderate' category.
Delhi Weather Update: A brief spell of light rain accompanied by southwesterly winds blowing at speeds of 15 to 25 kilometres per hour has brought a sharp drop in temperature to Delhi, offering the national capital an early taste of winter ahead of Diwali. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a slight rise in daytime temperatures alongside clear skies over the coming week.
What’s Behind the Pleasant Weather?
The recent shift was driven by a low-pressure area over southeastern Uttar Pradesh and adjoining regions, formed by the remnants of cyclonic storm Arnab. Simultaneously, a western disturbance persisted as a cyclonic circulation over the upper levels of the atmosphere in northern Haryana.
Meteorologists said that as these weather systems weaken, clear skies will return to the region, paving the way for a gradual shift in daily weather patterns.
Delhi 7-Day Weather Outlook
According to the IMD's 7-day weather forecast, Delhi can expect mostly clear skies throughout the week:
October 31: Partly cloudy sky | Maximum: 28 degrees Celsius, Minimum: 16 degrees Celsius
November 1: Mainly clear sky | Maximum: 29 degrees Celsius, Minimum: 17 degrees Celsius
November 2: Mainly clear sky | Maximum: 29 degrees Celsius, Minimum: 16 degrees Celsius
November 3: Mainly clear sky | Maximum: 29 degrees Celsius, Minimum: 16 degrees Celsius

November 5: Mainly clear sky | Maximum: 29 degrees Celsius, Minimum: 16 degrees Celsius
November 6: Mainly clear sky | Maximum: 29 degrees Celsius, Minimum: 16 degrees Celsius
Throughout this period, the IMD has issued no warning for the national capital.
AQI Slips To 'Moderate' Category
According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the city's 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 117 (Moderate) as of 4:00 PM on Saturday, compared to 60 (Satisfactory) recorded at the same time on Friday.
