CJP Tiranga March LIVE: The Delhi Police detained Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and All India Students’ Association (AISA) president Neha Bora on Friday ahead of the ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ march in the national capital. More than 150 protesters were detained as demonstrators gathered at Connaught Place and Mandi House despite restrictions on the planned march. Police said the detentions were preventive.

Dipke was detained while leaving a residence in Jhandewalan after police served him a notice against holding the march at Connaught Place’s Central Park. Bora was detained at Mandi House while heading towards Connaught Place with other activists. CJP and AISA later questioned the police over the activists’ whereabouts, with CJP also alleging that Dipke was not being allowed to speak to lawyers.

The march was called to protest the detention of CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were sent to judicial custody after entering Jantar Mantar on October 13, following the site’s de-notification as a protest venue. Dipke had urged supporters to carry the national flag, maintaining that waving the Tricolour was not a crime.

Security was tightened across the national capital, with the Delhi police deploying over 6,000 personnel around key areas including Rajiv Chowk, Connaught Place markets, Central Park, nearby metro stations, Jantar Mantar, and Palika Bazaar.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police granted CJP permission to hold its ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ rally at Azad Maidan on Friday. The gathering was planned to express solidarity with Das and Ranka, with organisers agreeing to hold it at the designated protest site.

In a post on X, she wrote, “Abhijeet Dipke has been detained for holding the Indian National Flag. Let that sink in.
