Nepal Border Rules: Valid identification such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, or passport has been made mandatory for entry into Nepal from India. The Nepalese administration is conducting strict border checks and no entry is permitted without the document. Apart from this, children under the age of 15 are required to show their birth certificate or school ID. Anyone without an ID is being turned away. As per jagran.com, this decision has been taken with the aim of controlling illegal infiltration and criminal activities in the border area.
After the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in West Bengal, the officials of both the countries have tightened the security arrangements to prevent entry of Rohingya and Bangladeshi citizens living illegally in border areas.
Following instructions from the Nepal government, the Morang district administration has gone into full alert mode along the approximately 38-kilometre stretch of the Nepal border from Sonamoni Godown to Ambari. The number of soldiers on both sides of the border is also increasing.

Soldiers from both countries are conducting continuous patrols to secure the border. Entry is permitted only after thorough checks. On the Indian side, SSB personnel deployed for border security are also checking the identity cards of all visitors.
What Did Officials Say?
“This rule applies not only to citizens of India but also to citizens of other countries, including Nepal. In light of instructions from the Nepal government regarding internal security and any kind of illegal infiltration, vigilance is being maintained at the borderG. ,” said Katwal and SS Thakur, Nepal APF.
“On the Indian side, SSB personnel deployed for border security are checking the identity cards of all visitors. People from Nepal and India should carry their identity cards if they travel between countries,” said PN Singh, Acting Commandant, SSB Araria.
Crowds Seen At Border
On Sunday, fortifications were visible on both sides of the Indo-Nepal border in Megha-Mayaganj, Sikti-Sunwarshi, and Sikti and Kursakanta blocks. Senior officers from the SSB, Nepal Police, and Nepal Armed Police Force continued to conduct inspections. Everyone entering and leaving was checked, including their ID cards.
Due to Nepal's sudden crackdown, bikes travelling from India to Nepal began to queue at the border. Daily wage labourers in Nepal faced difficulties with the screening process, and those without identification cards were turned away.
