Nepal Airlines faced backlash after a social media post featured a "network map" that incorrectly showed the entire Jammu and Kashmir region as belonging to Pakistan. In response to the criticism, the airline removed the post and issued an apology, calling the mistake a "cartographic inaccuracy" and admitting the error in its depiction of India.
The issue was noticed on Wednesday when the airline uploaded the map on its official social media accounts. The image rapidly spread across platforms such as X and Facebook, prompting widespread outrage from users in India.
Several users also asked the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation to take note of the incident and initiate necessary action.

Nepal Airlines Issues Apology
In its public apology on Thursday, Nepal Airlines stated that the map did not show the official diplomatic position of Nepal or the airline. It also apologised for the incorrect depiction on its map.
"We sincerely apologize for the error in the network map recently shared on our social media channels. The map contained significant cartographic inaccuracies regarding international boundaries that do not reflect the official stance of Nepal or Nepal Airlines. We have immediately removed the post and are conducting an internal review to ensure our materials meet the highest standards of accuracy. We deeply value our strong relationships with our neighbours and friends in the region and regret any offense the post has caused,” Nepal Airlines posted on X.

Khesari Lal Yadav Reponds To Controversy
Bhojpuri cinema superstar Khesari Lal Yadav responded to the controversy on his X handle and said, "Can anyone tell me what prompted Nepal Airlines to tamper with India's map like this, and that too regarding Jammu and Kashmir? This isn't a trivial matter; it seems like a deliberate act. They call this kind of thing provocation."
कोई बता पाएगा की क्या सोच के नेपाल एयरलाइंस भारत के नक्शे में ऐसा छेड़ छाढ़ किया है और वो भी जम्मू कश्मीर को लेकर ?
