Uttar Pradesh: In a bid to facilitate thousands of candidates appearing for the NEET re-examination 2026 on June 21, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a 50 per cent discount on roadways buses. Additionally, the Northern Railway's Lucknow Division and the North Eastern Railway will operate special trains to ease the commute.
Discount On Roadways Buses, Special Trains For Candidates
The discounted bus fares will be available on June 20 and 21, while candidates can travel on unreserved special trains on June 21. The Northern Railway's Lucknow Division will operate three special unreserved trains, and the North Eastern Railway's Lucknow Division will run two special unreserved trains.
Special Trains From Northern Railway's Lucknow Division
Speaking to Jagran.com, Samarth Gupta, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Northern Railway, said that the Northern Railway's Lucknow Division will operate three special unreserved trains on June 21, for the convenience of candidates appearing for NEET Re-Exam 2026.
- The first train, Train No. 04206 (Lucknow-Varanasi Junction via the Ayodhya Cantt route), is scheduled to depart from Lucknow station at 5:55 PM on June 21. Equipped with 11 unreserved coaches, this train will stop at key stations along the route, including Barabanki, Rudauli, Ayodhya Cantt, Ayodhya Dham, Goshainganj, Akbarpur, Shahganj, Jaunpur, and Zafarabad.
- The second train, Train No. 04202 (Lucknow-Prayagraj Sangam via the Raebareli-Unchahar route), will leave Lucknow station at 6:45 AM on June 21. Equipped with 14 unreserved coaches, the train is scheduled to stop at Bachhrawan, Harchandpur, Raebareli, Laxmanpur, Unchahar, Pariyawan Kalakankar Road, Garhi Manikpur, Kunda Harnamganj, Ramchaura Road, Phaphamau, and Prayagraj Junction.
- The third train, Train No. 04208 (Varanasi Junction-Patna Junction via the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction route), is scheduled to depart at 6:45 AM on June 21 from Varanasi Junction. This train will consist of 12 unreserved coaches and will stop at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Dildarnagar, Buxar, Ara, Danapur, and Patna Junction.
Special Trains From North Eastern Railway's Lucknow Division
Mahesh Gupta, the Public Relations Officer of the North Eastern Railway's Lucknow Division, stated that the administration will operate two pairs of special unreserved trains between Gorakhpur and Lucknow Junction on June 21. Each of these trains will comprise 12 coaches, including 10 general second class and two SLRD coaches. All coaches will be of the unreserved category.
The first pair of services will run as Train No. 05007 and 05008.
- Train No. 05007 (Gorakhpur-Lucknow Examination Special) will depart from Gorakhpur at 04:05 AM on June 21, stopping at Khalilabad at 04:56 AM, Basti at 05:22 AM, Babhanan at 05:52 AM, Mankapur at 06:22 AM, Gonda at 06:55 AM, Karnailganj at 07:24 AM, Barabanki at 08:38 AM, and Badshahnagar at 09:20 AM, and arrive at Lucknow Junction at 10:00 AM.
- For the return journey, Train No. 05008 (Lucknow-Gorakhpur Examination Special) is scheduled to leave Lucknow Junction at 7:15 PM on June 21, stopping at Badshahnagar at 7:50 PM, Barabanki at 8:28 PM, Karnailganj at 9:20 PM, Gonda at 10:12 PM, Mankapur at 10:40 PM, Babhanan at 11:12 PM, Basti at 11:42 PM, and Khalilabad at 12:08 AM the next day, reaching Gorakhpur at 1:15 AM.
The second pair of services will run in the opposite direction as Train No. 05036 and 05035.
- Train No. 05036 (Lucknow-Gorakhpur Exam Special) will depart Lucknow Junction at 04:40 AM on June 21, stopping at Badshahnagar at 05:10 AM, Barabanki at 06:05 AM, Karnailganj at 06:54 AM, Gonda at 07:33 AM, Mankapur at 07:59 AM, Babhanan at 08:20 AM, Basti at 08:45 AM, and Khalilabad at 09:10 AM, before reaching Gorakhpur at 10:05 AM.
- The return service, Train No. 05035 (Gorakhpur-Lucknow Exam Special) is scheduled to leave Gorakhpur at 7:15 PM on June 21, stopping at Khalilabad at 7:57 PM, Basti at 8:25 PM, Babhanan at 8:54 PM, Mankapur at 9:25 PM, Gonda at 10:00 PM, Karnailganj at 10:31 PM, Barabanki at 10:52 PM, and Badshahnagar at 12:32 AM the next day, arriving at Lucknow Junction at 1:10 AM.
50% Discount On UP Roadways Bus Tickets
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a 50 per cent discount on bus fares for candidates appearing for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. The discounted bus fares will be available on June 20 and 21.
To avail the benefits, the students will have to show their original NEET admit card to the conductor. After verification, the conductor will retain a photocopy of the admit card and issue a discounted ticket at half the fare (child ticket).
