NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak Case: The NEET UG 2026 paper leak case has sent shockwaves across the country, exposing how teachers, professors and ordinary individuals were allegedly involved in leaking question papers. Among those arrested is Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, popularly known as “M Sir”, owner of the well-known Renukai Chemistry Classes (RCC) coaching institute in Maharashtra’s Latur.

He was arrested after the CBI allegedly found a copy of the NEET-UG question paper on his mobile phone during searches conducted in Latur on Sunday.

What has shocked many even more is that just two years ago, Motegaonkar was publicly speaking in support of students, demanding justice in the NEET controversy and calling it a “massive scam”. Today, the same man is under arrest in the NEET UG paper leak case. He had projected himself as someone fighting for the rights of NEET aspirants.

Following his arrest, an old 2024 video of “M Sir” resurfaced online and rapidly went viral. In the clip, recorded from inside a car, Motegaonkar is seen addressing students and claiming that he had filed a Public Interest Litigation before the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court regarding the alleged NEET scam.

In the video, he had claimed that Maharashtra students would be among the worst affected by the alleged irregularities and had urged media organisations and students to come together for a larger movement. At the time, several students viewed him as a teacher standing up for transparency and fairness in competitive examinations. The same video is now being widely shared online, but with sharp criticism and disbelief.

According to the CBI, Motegaonkar was an active member of the organised gang involved in the leakage and circulation of the NEET UG question paper. He allegedly received the question paper 10 days before the medical entrance examination conducted by the NTA on May 3 and circulated the leaked paper to several people through WhatsApp.

Motegaonkar's arrest is seen as the second big arrest in the NEET-UG paper leak case after Pune Professor PV Kulkarni, who was a part of the NTA panel overseeing the NEET question papers. He allegedly dictated the questions along with the options and correct answers to students during his special coaching classes with the help of another arrested accused, Manisha Waghmare.
