NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak: A massive political row erupted after the NEET UG 2026 examination was cancelled over the allegations of a paper leak. Abhishek Singh, the Director General of the National Testing Agency, while taking full responsibility, assured that the schedule for the re-examination would be announced within the "next seven to 10 days". While Singh stated that the full paper was not leaked, he stated that strict action will be taken against "those behind the conspiracy".

- Dhananjay Lokhande, one of the accused in the paper leak case, was arrested from Maharashtra's Ahilyanagar after fleeing from Pune
- The Federation of All India Medical Associations (FAIMA) has filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking a re-conduct of the examination. The medical body has also demanded to either remove or restructure the NTA to ensure transparency
- The exam paper was reportedly leaked using high-profile technology such as movable scanners, a Telegram network, and a server
- Abhishek Singh, while addressing the press, took the full responsibility for the leak and assured that the new dates would be announced soon. "I would not say that the entire paper was leaked. But I will definitely say that even if a single question matches our question paper, our commitment to zero tolerance and zero error is violated, and our entire process is compromised," Singh stated. "We will take responsibility for it and take action accordingly," he added.
- Earlier on May 2, a few hours before the examination, an MBBS student residing in Kerala sent a guess paper to his father in Rajasthan's Sikar, who runs a hostel for aspirants
- As per the reports, investigators suspect that an employee of a private courier firm could have helped the conspirators in accessing the papers for a few minutes
