A 33-year-old automobile dealer was arrested after starting a fire on a roadway in Mumbai, India, for a birthday stunt video. The dealer, who used flammable liquid to draw a “33” on the roadway and then set it on fire, caused serious damage to the roadway and created a public safety hazard. The fire was started to celebrate his 33rd birthday.
The Goregaon Police began to investigate the fire after the video was widely shared on social media, and they arrested the dealer after a case was registered against him under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Investigators said they were alerted to the incident only after the footage went viral, prompting complaints and calls for strict action.

The footage shows the man standing beside a car as the number “33”, formed using an inflammable substance, is set on fire with a matchstick. He is then seen walking along the flaming markings before driving away from the spot.
The stunt drew widespread criticism on social media, with users calling it reckless and irresponsible. “Arrest him and upload the arrest video on the same Instagram account where he posted this reel, telling his audience that they should never do this, as it is both dangerous and a punishable offence,” a user said.
Another said, “This is peak brainrot. Absolute idiot. Arrest him and make him repair the road with his own money.”
“Such deliberate vandalism. Should be charged and behind bars for some years for this,” a user said.
Several users demanded strict punishment, pointing out the potential danger to pedestrians, vehicles, and public property. Others also raised concerns over increasing risky stunts being performed for online attention.
