Kadhi-Rice Served During Mid-Day Meal
The children were served kadhi-rice at the school at around 1:30 pm on Saturday. Shortly after eating, several children complained of feeling unwell. The school management immediately informed their families and sent the children to the hospital.
Food poisoning was initially suspected due to the number of children falling ill at the same time. However, after medical examination and continuous monitoring, no clear symptoms of food poisoning were found, and all the children were discharged.
Food Samples Collected, Investigation Underway
The Food and Drug Administration team visited the school and collected samples of the food and other edible items. Officials will examine whether the children's health deteriorated because of the food or some other reason.
The investigation will also look into where and how the food was prepared, how it was transported to the school and whether its quality was checked before being served to the children.
According to doctors, all the children are now in normal condition and out of danger. The administration and health department are continuing their investigation.
