Meerut School Owner Murder: How Wife With Lover Staged Killing By Using Snake

Jagran Correspondent, Meerut: A murder case in Hastinapur has drawn attention after police stated that a school owner, Atul Kumar, was killed in a planned conspiracy. According to the police, the accused tried to make the murder look like a snake bite accident by leaving a snake near Atul’s bed. A snake bite mark was also found on his leg.

The incident appears similar to a previous case reported on April 17 in Akbarpur Sadat, where a woman allegedly killed her husband with the help of her lover and tried to show it as a snake bite incident. Officials said the difference in the two cases was that in the earlier case, a snake was placed after the murder, while in Atul’s case, the snake was allegedly used to kill him.

What's The Case?

Atul Kumar, a resident of Bhandaura village, lived in a rented house in Hastinapur with his wife Damini and their two children. He ran a school with his wife, who worked there as a teacher. The school was located about one kilometre from their home. According to police, Damini travelled daily to the school in the school van with driver Tushar Payla.

Not An Accidental Death, Says Police In Hastinapur

During this time, she allegedly became close to Tushar, and the two later planned to kill Atul. SP Rural Abhijit Singh said Atul’s death was not an accident but a planned murder. He said a snake was purchased for the crime and action would also be taken against those involved in selling the snake.

Police said Damini and Atul had a love marriage seven years ago. The two had met while working at a school in Hastinapur and later decided to marry despite initial opposition from their families. After their marriage, they started a play school in a rented building and later had two children. The investigation is ongoing, and police are looking into the role of all people involved in the case.
