A Pune court has extended the police custody of Siya and her lover Chetan, the accused in the murder of realtor Ketan Agarwal. The duo were produced before the Vadgaon Maval court on June 29 after their custody ended.

The police sought an additional five days, arguing that a significant part of the investigation was pending. They also informed the court about the mystery of Ketan's missing passport from the Mumbai airport before the pre-wedding shoot trip to Bali.

The cops told the court that Siya had allegedly torn and burned his passport, and efforts were ongoing to recover its remaining parts.

The police further told the court that Chetan had allegedly changed his clothes after the murder and so it was important for them to trace his movement from after the murder.

Investigators are also trying to determine what phone conversations took place between the two accused after the incident.

As part of the probe, the police have so far interrogated both the accused together, face-to-face and recreated the murder scene at the Lohagad Fort to understand the details of how the accused perpetrated the crime.

The police recreated the scene on June 28 after temporarily closing the fort for the public, citing security reasons. The police used dummies to recreate the murder scene.

According to the investigation, Siya wanted to marry Chetan, but his financial condition was weak, and he was seeking three years' time from her.

Siya then reportedly asked for Rs 1 crore from Ketan on the pretext of wedding shopping and gave it to Chetan to invest in his career and business.

The reports suggest that the accused then planned to kill Ketan and pass it off as an accidental death. Siya intended to observe grief, taking an opportunity to delay any other wedding proposal for three years.
