- Six dead, six missing due to Kerala floods.
- Chief Minister reviews relief efforts across affected districts.
- Sabarimala pilgrims urged to reconsider visit amid flood alert.
A total of six people have died while six remain missing after heavy rainfall triggered a landslides and flash floods across the state. In view of the prevailing rain-related situation across the state, Chief Minister VD Satheesan has been continuously reviewing situations with the Revenue Minister and other ministers coordinating relief efforts in various districts and their administrations.
The Chief Minister's Office stated that Satheesan has also spoken with MLAs and other public representatives from the worst-affected areas of the state.
Till 6:00 PM, a total of six deaths have been confirmed, while six others remain missing. Search operations are continuing with the participation of various agencies, supported by public representatives and residents.

65 relief camps set up
The government, through the district administrations, has set up a total of 65 relief camps, sheltering 1,465 people.
Arrangements have also been made to shift more victims of the rain-related incidents to relief camps if needed. A total of seventeen houses have been destroyed, while 127 houses have sustained partial damage.
The areas which received heavy rainfall earlier in the day have seen a reduction by evening, bringing a relief and helping in expediting relief efforts. To strengthen the rescue and relief operation, boats have been brought in from other districts.
The administration has been monitoring the water inflows into various dams. People in hilly areas have been advised to remain vigilant.
In the past 35 hours, the Anakkampoyil area in Kozhikode district and Meppadi in Wayanad district recorded 340 mm and 177 mm of rainfall respectively.

Tourist urged to reconsider visit to Sabrimala
Amid high-alert over torrential rains and flooding in Pampa, the Travancore Devaswom Board has advised devotees to reconsider their pilgrimage to Sabarimala on August 2 and 3. There is a possibility of a landslide in the area and an alert has been sounded accordingly.
