Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several regions of Karnataka are set to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days. The rainfall will reduce the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius, providing relief from the heat. Along with rain, the coastal regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the IMD stated that several districts in the North Karnataka region, including Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, and Belagavi, are set to witness moderate rainfall till May 4. Apart from this, other districts, such as Yadgir, Raichur, Bagalkote, Koppal, Dharwad, Gadag, Ballari, Vijayanagara, Haveri, Davanagere, Shivamogga, Chitradurga, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Tumakuru, Kodagu, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura, and Kolar, are also likely to witness rain.
The residents of Bengaluru are also expected to get relief from the heat due to the rainfall. Along with light rain, the residents are set to experience cloudy skies and a gentle breeze for the next few days. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 35 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 22 degrees Celsius.
The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences to the commuters. The weather department has advised the fishermen of the coastal regions to follow the guidelines and limit their financial activities during the rain to avoid any inconveniences.

Along with Karnataka, several other states, including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, are also set to witness rainfall for the next few days. However, the rain will only provide temporary relief as the severe heat is likely to return after May 5.
