In a shocking incident in UP’s Kanpur, a woman allegedly hired two individuals to kill her 63-year-old father-in-law, Vinit Minocha, following disputes over his CCTV surveillance and objections to her late-night parties. The pharmaceutical businessman was stabbed 26 times in his apartment last Saturday.
What’s the matter?
The Kanpur woman alleged that her father-in-law closely observed activities inside the house through CCTV cameras and objected to her attending late-night parties or returning home late.
The accused, identified as Shalu, alleged that despite being married to a wealthy family, she had little to no say in the family’s spending. The UP woman also claimed that her father-in-law used to keep track of all spending made by her and the husband.
How Did thAccused Plan Murder
The matter escalated further on July 28, when Shalu returned home late and an argument occurred with her father-in-law. Following this, she approached former house help Vishal and offered him Rs 6 lakh to kill her father-in-law. The accused allegedly claimed to pay Rs 2 lakh on September 6, while the remaining Rs 4 lakh was allegedly promised 15 days later.
Shalu then arranged a duplicate key to the apartment and gave it to Vishal. On September 4, during the Janmashtami festival, she contacted him over the pretext of giving him some items and finalised the plan. Reports said that Shalu, accompanied by her husband and son, left for the party on Saturday.
Minutes later, Vishal and Raj Kishore allegedly arrived at the apartment. When the security guard Madan restricted his entry to the apartment, Shalu convinced him over the phone. She allegedly told the guard that Vishal and Kishore had come to deliver medicines and should be allowed inside.
Investigators revealed that the original plot was to suffocate Vineet Minocha with a pillow to stage a heart attack, but events ultimately diverged from that plan.The two men were hiding in the son's bedroom when Minocha entered the room. They then allegedly attacked him with knives, inflicting 26 stab wounds before fleeing the apartment.
As the couple returned from the party at around 3:00 am, they found Minocha lying on the bed in a pool of blood. Following this, the two informed the police officials.
Upon arrival, the cops found that no valuables were missing from the house. This led to the suspicion that killing was carried out for a personal agenda. During the initial investigation, Shalu denied the allegation; however, upon questioning, he confessed her crime.
