Jagran Correspondent, Kanpur: The Kanpur-Ayodhya Namo Bharat Corridor and the proposed Delhi-Patna High-Speed Rail Corridor are expected to boost the regional connectivity in the northern states. The projects are also set to provide relief to the residents of Kanpur and reduce travel time to key cities, including Delhi, Lucknow, and Ayodhya.
Kanpur-Ayodhya RRTS Project
As per the reports, work has already begun on the plan to develop a high-speed Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) from Kanpur to Ayodhya. This 187-kilometer corridor is estimated to cost approximately Rs 32,000 crore, a detailed presentation of the project was made at a meeting between the NCRTC and the state government on May 14.
The project is set to benefit daily commuters, students, tourists, and working professionals between Kanpur, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, and Ayodhya. Along with improving the regional connectivity, the corridor will also boost the financial activities in these cities, leading to new job opportunities.
How Will It Boost Connectivity?
As per the authority, the corridor's first station in Kanpur is proposed to be Nayaganj. The line will then travel through Unnao, Bashiratpur, Nawabganj, Banthra, and Amausi to Lucknow. The officials stated that further stations are proposed at Sushant Golf City, Jugpur, Barail, Safdarganj, Bhitaria, and Ayodhya.
The project is planned to be completed in two phases. The first phase will develop a section of approximately 67 kilometers from Nayaganj to Lucknow's Amausi Airport. Apart from this, the second phase will extend the line from Amausi to Ayodhya via Lucknow City and Barabanki.
Project To Cut Travel Time
The proposed Delhi-Patna High Speed Rail Corridor includes the Delhi-Agra-Kanpur-Lucknow-Prayagraj-Varanasi-Patna route. As per Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, following the completion of the project, the residents will be able to cover the distance between Delhi and Kanpur in less than 2 hours.
As per the reports, while the passengers will be able to travel to Ayodhya in one and a half hours, they will be able to reach Delhi in less than two hours.
