Jharkhand Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Jharkhand are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall in the next few days. As per the weather department, the monsoon is likely to become active again after remaining weak for the past two days. The IMD stated that the rainfall is likely to provide relief to the residents by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius.

The weather department has issued a Yellow alert for rainfall and strong surface winds in several districts on June 17, including Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, Gumla, Lohardaga, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela, Ramgarh, and Bokaro. Along with the rainfall, these regions are also likely to experience winds at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour in the afternoon.

The weather department further stated that the sky is likely to remain cloudy in other districts, but the temperature will remain high. The residents are expected to witness similar weather conditions on June 18 as well, the weather department added. As per the reports, the weather is likely to change after June 22, as most of the districts will receive rainfall.

The IMD stated that intermittent rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, is expected for three days from June 19 in 17 districts, including the capital city Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh, Koderma, Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Saraikela, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur, Sahibganj, and Godda.

The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconvenience to the commuters and farmers. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the rainfall to avoid any inconveniences. Apart from this, the IMD asked the farmers to not hide beneath any big tree or electricity pole.

With the weakening of the monsoon, maximum temperatures in most of the districts have increased in the past few days. While providing details, IMD stated that Medininagar's maximum temperature reached 42.4 degrees Celsius, adding that the temperature has risen by two degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.
