Jharkhand Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that at least seven people have died in the various districts of Jharkhand in the past 24 hours due to the heavy rainfall and lightning. As per the weather department, the deceased include three women and a 10-year-old child. The fresh rainfall has provided relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. However, it also led to waterlogging in the lower regions and caused damage to infrastructure in various districts.

As per the police officials, the worst-affected districts were the capital city, Ranchi, and Garhwa, where two people lost their lives. They stated that Jitu Mahali (55), a resident of Barhu village, and Nirasha Devi (33), a resident of Katamkuli village, were working in the fields when they were struck by lightning. Satyadev Prasad, Pithoria Police Station sub-inspector, said that both bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
