Jharkhand Paper Leak: JMM's Ally CPI-ML Demands JPSC Dissolution, Urges CM Hemant Soren To Meet Protesters

Jagran Correspondent, Ranchi: Following the nationwide protests led by CJP, which led to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, students in Jharkhand are now protesting against alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations.

Amid allegations of irregularities in JPSC appointments, the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation (CPI (ML) Liberation), a constituent of the Grand Alliance, has demanded the dissolution of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC).

In a statement issued on Monday, CPI (ML) Liberation state secretary Manoj Bhakta said that, in light of serious allegations against former JPSC Chairman L. Khiangte, the commission should be dissolved immediately.

He demanded that the JPSC be reconstituted through a transparent process based on established rules, standards, and norms. He also urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to personally meet the protesting students and take steps to fix accountability within the government for irregularities in the education system.

“It is true that we have failed to improve the education system and implement an employment policy based on local residency,” Bhakta said.

Demand Against Implementation of New Education Policy

The CPI (ML) Liberation state secretary also urged the government not to blindly implement the New Education Policy introduced by the Modi government. He claimed that the policy could adversely affect tribal, Dalit, backward-class students, and students from remote areas under the cluster scheme.

On the issue of scholarships, Bhakta alleged that the government has limited itself to making statements rather than taking concrete action. He said that, under the framework of federal rights, the state government should pressure the Centre to take full responsibility.

Targeting the BJP over delays in the CBI investigation into the alleged scam related to the second JPSC examination, Manoj Bhakta said that instead of responding to questions regarding the delay, Union Minister of State Sanjay Seth was demanding a CBI probe.

“This is an attempt to protect their own people,” he alleged. “The anti-student and anti-youth attitude of the Modi government and the BJP has been witnessed by the entire world at Jantar Mantar.”
