Jagran State Bureau, Lucknow | After Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's statement about turning a 25 paise coin into a rupee, the war of words between the SP and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) has intensified. Without naming any leader or party, RLD national president Jayant Chaudhary slammed Yadav, saying he should have targeted me instead of attacking the Jat community.

He wrote on X, "If you wanted to use cheap words in a political battle, you could have used my name. Targeting the Jat community and claiming that we taught them the ABCs is arrogance, which we have seen."

It should be noted that recently, former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said at an event, "I don't know where they came from to form an alliance. We made a 25 paise coin into a rupee, but still left us." A flurry of sharp statements and accusations from the RLD followed this. Both the SP and RLD accused each other of being unthankful.

SP Reminds RLD Of Sending Jayant To Rajya Sabha

The Samajwadi Party (SP) said that its party sent Jayant to the Rajya Sabha. An airport and a university were named after Chaudhary Saheb. RLD national general secretary KC Tyagi responded by saying that it was Chaudhary Saheb who made Mulayam Mulayam, but on Thursday, Jayant himself came forward and played the politically emotional card by indirectly calling the Samajwadi Party anti-Jat.

Mayawati Steps In To Target SP

Meanwhile, BSP chief Mayawati stepped in to launch a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party. She described the SP as a party that changes colours like a "chameleon." The BSP chief, who has announced that she will contest the elections alone, alleged that the SP only pursues its own interests in alliance matters and then changes its colours.

Mayawati wrote on X that the SP chief's statement was indecent and unbecoming. Akhilesh should apologise not only to Jayant Chaudhary, but also to the Chaudhary Charan Singh family and the entire Jat community for this undemocratic statement, he added.

Recalling the June 2, 1995, State Guest House incident, the BSP chief wrote that the SP's conduct, character, and face have always been plagued by political narrow-mindedness and casteist hatred. The BJP has often exploited this SP policy to its electoral advantage, weakening secular forces, Mayawati said, blaming the SP for the breakdown of the SP-BSP alliance. She said the alliance was broken due to its arrogant nature.
