Jabalpur Cruise Boat Tragedy: A cruise ship carrying 42 tourists capsized at the Bargi Dam in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur on Thursday. The incident, reportedly triggered by sudden, strong winds, resulted in nine fatalities, while search and rescue operations continue for several missing passengers.
Following the tragedy, an emotional photograph of a mother and son has circulated widely on social media, with many users linking it to the accident.

Jabalpur Collector Raghavendra Singh said that the viral photograph of a mother and son has no connection to the Bargi cruise accident. He further stated that the image appears to be either AI-generated or from an unrelated source.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Singh said, "This photo is AI-generated or from some other source. It has no connection with the Bargi cruise accident."
The administration noted that the spread of such rumours has hurt the sentiments of the victims' families. The administration has clarified that only official updates should be trusted and issued a stern warning that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found spreading such misleading images and news.

Jabalpur Cruise Ship Accident
Nine people died after a cruise ship carrying dozens of tourists capsized at Bargi Dam in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur on Thursday. The weather changed abruptly around 6:00 PM, bringing strong winds and high waves that caused the vessel to sway uncontrollably before sinking into the reservoir.
Teams of the Army, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) worked through the night and throughout Friday to locate and rescue the missing passengers.

- 24 to 28 people have been rescued and are receiving medical care.
- Nine people have been confirmed dead, with the bodies recovered by search teams.
