In a major development, the main suspect behind the rape and murder of the daughter of an IRS officer in Delhi has been arrested. The accused has been identified as Rahul Meena. He was apprehended from an OYO hotel located in Delhi's Dwarka area.
The police on Wednesday said that the accused was involved in a molestation incident in his locality in Rajasthan's Alwar just a day before killing the victim.
The woman was allegedly raped and murdered at her residence by her former domestic help in southeast Delhi's upscale Kailash Hills locality on Wednesday morning. Her parents were at a gym when the incident took place and found her body in a room of the house upon returning.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage has surfaced that shows Rahul. Dressed in a yellow shirt, Rahul can be seen in the footage walking from the main gate towards the woman's house at 6:24 AM.

Reacting to the incident, Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar said police were alerted on Wednesday morning by the victim's parents, along with inputs from hospital officials. The victim was found unconscious at her residence in Kailash Hills and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
"We received information this morning; the woman's parents were the ones who alerted us. We also received information from the hospital authorities. The daughter of an IRS officer was found in an unconscious state on one of the floors. She was rushed to the hospital, but she was declared dead upon arrival," Kumar said.
The CP said that the investigation turned to the domestic help quickly. The CCTV footage showed him walking towards the residence before the incident. The CP added that Rahul accessed the house at 6:39 AM and left at 7:20 AM.
As he remained at large, 15 teams were formed by the police. Raids were conducted from Rajasthan to Delhi and Meena was arrested from Dwarka eventually.
