During the police investigation, the husband's family expressed suspicion about the wife and her lover, leading to the revelation of the mystery surrounding the murder. On April 22, 2023, Rukhsana went to the Chandan Nagar police station to file a report, claiming that her husband, Javed, had gone out in search of a job, but never returned. Her husband's phone was also switched off. The police registered a missing person report and began searching for Javed.
During interrogation, the family members told the police that Javed's wife, Rukhsana, was having an affair with Saddam.
