MP News: MP Police on Wednesday claimed to have solved the robbery of Rs 29.65 lakh in Indore. The robbers looted cash from Mukul Agarwal, an employee of scrap dealer Rakesh Goyal. According to police, the main conspirator, Chandrashekhar alias Chandu Mukati, is a retired Lance Naik of the Army.

Under pressure from heavy financial losses in cryptocurrency trading and mounting debt, Chandu formed a gang and carried out the robbery. Police arrested five accused and seized 22.50 lakh rupees, a car, and jewellery.

Accused Donates Rs 1.11 Lakh To Temple

According to police, after the robbery, the accused went straight to Sanwariya Seth Temple in Rajasthan and donated Rs 1 lakh and 11 thousand from the looted amount. They also visited Ujjain and Nalkheda and performed a havan (worship) at the Baglamukhi Temple.

Police Commissioner (ADG) Santosh Kumar Singh, Rakesh Goyal, a resident of Vindhyachal Colony, owns a factory called Srishti Metal on Sanwer Road. His employee, Mukul Agarwal, was returning home on June 11th after collecting money from traders in the Siyaganj, Cantonment, and Gari Adda areas. As he reached Machhi Bazaar, miscreants on a scooter snatched a bag containing 29.65 lakh rupees from him.

Chandu Served In Army For 16 Years

On Tuesday, police arrested Mukati, a resident of Sannod (Dewas), Praveen Bhandari, a resident of Palda, Amar alias Bhanja Ahirwar, a resident of Kulkarni Nagar, Firoz, and Kapil Bhandari. Chandu served in the Army for 16 years and, after retiring, worked as a bookkeeper at businessman Luv Jain's factory. He conducted a recce of Mukul's routes and conspired with Amar to commit the robbery.

How Police Cracked The Case

According to the police, the scooter used in the crime had a fake number plate. CCTV footage of the scooter's original number plate being installed at a location after the crime. This led to the discovery of the robbery. DCP Zone 4 Sunil Mehta said the accused had divided the looted money. They purchased a car in Ujjain for Rs 2.5 lakh to use in further robberies and thefts.
