- Over 10,000 surprise fuel quality inspections conducted nationwide.

Amid growing concerns on social media over fuel quality, the country's three major state-owned oil companies, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), have assured customers that there has been no compromise on fuel quality.
In reply to such rumours, the concerned oil companies are on high alert and have increased quality checking throughout the country to assure consumers of purity and reliability in every single drop.
Over 10,000 Surprise Inspections, Zero Tolerance
Indian Oil Corporation, the country's top oil firm, is heading the campaign. The company carried out close to 10,000 surprise checks on its retail outlets and tested more than 8,500 fuel samples in the last one week.
The firm added it strictly adheres to a zero tolerance policy in terms of fuel adulteration and dilution and vowed strong action against dealers involved in sub-standard sales.
"Fuel quality is a matter of utmost importance for IndianOil. Every day, our teams work across the country to ensure that customers receive fuel that meets all prescribed quality standards. Regular inspections, surprise checks and scientific testing are carried out as part of a rigorous quality assurance system," PTI quoted Indian Oil Corporation.
Mobile Lab Testing, Transparency Assured
BPCL and HPCL have also stepped up their quality checks.
From July 3 to July 13, BPCL conducted 932 surprise inspections and performed fuel quality tests in real time using mobile labs, whereas in the same period, HPCL performed 2,173 surprise inspections and 1,385 periodic inspections on the fuel quality and ethanol blending norms.

The companies said their inspections found no cases of fuel adulteration or quality compromise.
They have also urged customers not to rely on unverified reports circulating on social media and advised them to lodge complaints through official channels if they have any concerns, reiterating that customer trust remains their highest priority.
