In a unique turn of events, a taxi ride from Noida to Delhi is going viral for quite some time, and the reason behind its viral nature is road safety issues, with a commuter alleging his Ola cab driver was watching episodes of 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' on a busy highway.

The passenger shared the incident on X, where he complained that while driving, the Ola driver had his phone mounted on his car and he was watching episodes from his mobile. This incident took place when the heat was unbearable, and the temperature in Delhi was about 45 degrees Celsius.

He also complained that since he was concerned about safety, he had asked the Ola driver to stop watching and pay attention while driving, which left him shocked.

"I politely said, Bhaiya, turn off the screen, focus on driving. The driver replied that 'If there is any problem, then just get out."

Further adding to this, he stated that they were his wife and younger brother who were in the car along with him and that they had to sit quietly in the cab in the middle of the highway and were not given any chance to protest due to the conditions.

"Stranded in the middle of the highway with family in 45-degree sun, we sat quietly, forced into silence. The question is, what's the value of our lives in Uber-Ola?"

The tweet immediately went viral as many social media users pointed out several other similar cases with Ola and Uber drivers. Several users on X shared their experiences of their respective drivers watching videos on YouTube, Instagram, cricket matches and movies.

The users also urged for stringent action to be taken against the offenders.

One user even wrote that "Blistering 45-degree heat, a highway journey, and the driver's such brazen recklessness, this incident is not just negligence, but an open gamble with the passengers' safety."

One user commented that "The level of high-handedness and rudeness from cab drivers is criminal endangerment. Such Companies must stop relying on passenger ratings and implement a stronger on-ground safety measure."

Another added, "This is a completely wrong approach. Watching videos while driving isn't just a violation of traffic rules; it's also a risk to the lives of passengers. Strict action should be taken against such incidents; simply lowering the rating isn't enough."
