Himachal Pradesh Weather Update: Isolated places in the Sirmaur, Lahaul and Spiti districts witnessed light rainfall over the 24 hours since Thursday evening.

In view of the weather conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued an alert, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph across the region.

Himachal Pradesh Weather Forecast

According to the weather office, the advisory covers 10 districts, excluding Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti.

On May 30, light to moderate rain is expected in some areas, while light rain and snow are likely at isolated places between May 31 and June 4.

According to a report by news agency PTI, light rain was recorded in isolated places in Sirmaur, Lahaul and Spiti districts over the 24 hours since Thursday evening.

Nahan in Sirmaur received 14.2 mm of rain, followed by Poanta Sahib at 6.4 mm, Dhaulakuan at 3.5 mm, Kalpa at 2.5 mm, Kukumseri at 2.1 mm, Keylong at 2 mm, while Renuka and Jaton Barrage saw 1 mm rainfall each.

Himachal Pradesh received 202.1 mm of pre-monsoon rainfall between March 1 and May 29, marking a 15 per cent deficit against a normal rainfall of 237.1 mm.

Himachal Pradesh Temperature Today

On Saturday, Keylong experienced the coldest night in the region with a low of 3.5 degrees Celsius, while Una was the hottest during the day, recording a maximum temperature of 39.6 degrees Celsius.

North India Weather Update

The IMD has predicted continued relief from the heat across Northwest India. Over the next two to three days, maximum temperatures could decrease by 6 degrees Celsius to 8 degrees Celsius. Today, heavy rain and strong thunderstorms are highly likely in many areas of Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, a red alert for rain and severe thunderstorms has been issued for 15 states.
