Seven Labourers Killed, Several Injured After Wall Collapses At Under-Construction Signature Global Site In Gurugram

In a tragic incident, seven people lost their lives while multiple others were injured after a wall at an under-construction site of Signature Global collapsed at Gurugram's Sidhrawali. Several workers were reported to be trapped under the debris.

The accident triggered widespread chaos at the site, prompting emergency services to rush to the spot. Rescue teams from SDRF, police, and Civil Defence reached the site, and a rescue operation was underway to locate and save the trapped workers.

According to the information, construction work related to the basement or foundation was underway at the site when a large section of soil collapsed suddenly, burying the workers.

On Monday evening, the workers were digging at the basement site, removing soil, when suddenly a nearby mud wall collapsed. More than 15 workers were buried, while the others present on site fled immediately in panic. While the three were quickly pulled out, 12 workers remained trapped inside. Residents informed the Bilaspur police.

Those buried under the soil were pulled out and immediately rushed to the hospital. However, the doctors declared seven of them dead.

The other injured were undergoing treatment. The rescue teams and firefighters used JCBs and other machinery to remove debris and rescue the trapped workers.

Prima facie, negligence in safety standards was suspected. The administration has ordered an investigation into the matter. The officials said that action will be taken against those responsible after a detailed investigation into the incident.

Dr Sagar Arora, in charge of the Bhiwadi District Hospital, said that the injured workers were brought to the hospital. Upon examination, seven workers were found dead. Bilaspur police said that the workers have not yet been identified. Information is being gathered about all of them. Once the information is available, their families will be informed.

The residents and workers were agitated after the deadly incident. The administration has assured the families of the deceased of all possible assistance.
