Jagran Correspondent | Gurugram: A 24-year-old man died after a speeding car hit his bike in Gurugram on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Yogendra Mishra and was hit by a Scorpio while he was riding his bike near Bank Market on Old Delhi Road. The accused reportedly fled the scene after abandoning the victim.

What Happened At The Site?

Around 12 am, the victim was returning to his room on his bike. As he approached Bank Market on Old Delhi Road, a speeding Scorpio car struck his bike from behind. Bystanders rushed him to Kalyani Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The Sector 14 police officials seized the Scorpio car from the scene. They stated that CCTV footage from the area around the scene is being examined. The vehicle is registered in Gurugram. Based on the number, the accused will soon be identified and arrested.

Victim Resided In Gurugram For 3 Years

The deceased was a resident of Karanpur village in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur district. His father, Surendra Chandra Mishra, filed a case of negligent driving against the Scorpio driver at the Sector 14 police station.

The victim had been living in Gurugram for three years and worked at a private company. He had completed his B.Tech. in mechanical engineering in February of this year.

Separate Incident

In a separate incident, five people died and nine others suffered serious injuries after a speeding canter struck a parked bus in Uttar Pradesh's Etah. The accident occurred at around 11:30 pm near Kilaramou village in the Baghwala police station. The affected people were all passengers of the bus. The injured people were immediately shifted to a nearby medical college.

In a similar accident, four people were killed and seven others suffered injuries after a lorry hit an autorickshaw near Kambham in Andhra Pradesh's Markapuram district on the Amaravati-Anantapur highway. The passengers travelling in an autorickshaw were reportedly returning from a wedding. The deceased were identified as Avula Alaknanda (19), Avula Ankallu (20), Avula Nagesh (17), and Avula Nageswari (2), all residents of Nallabandha Bazaar in Giddalur.
