Greater Noida: A luxury Jaguar car caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Thursday. The vehicle was heading toward Agra when the fire broke out. However, no casualties or injuries were reported.

According to a report by news agency PTI, the fire broke out roughly four kilometres before the Zero Point on the expressway, within the limits of the Ecotech 1 police station.

Jaguar Car Catches Fire On Yamuna Expressway

The luxury car, a Jaguar XJ 3.0L XJ50, was travelling from Gurugram to Mathura when the occupants noticed sparks coming from the vehicle. Moments later, the car was completely engulfed in flames and smoke.

Upon receiving the information, the police and the fire department personnel rushed to the spot. The firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control before it could spread further.

"On receiving information, police and fire service teams immediately reached the spot. The fire brigade brought the blaze under control," PTI quoted an officer from the Ecotech 1 police station as saying.

Officials safely evacuated all the occupants of the car, and no casualties were reported. The vehicle was later removed using a crane, and normal traffic flow was restored.

One Dead After Overhead Crane Collapses At Jewar Expressway Construction Site

In a separate incident, several labourers were trapped while one died after a heavy-duty crane lifting girders lost balance at a flyover construction site linked to the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway. The flyover is being constructed to connect to the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Budhha Nagar.

The incident took place on Thursday evening, triggering a massive outcry. The rescue operation was initiated promptly.

According to eyewitnesses, heavy rain in the evening had left the construction site muddy and slippery. After the rain subsided, workers were back at work. While lifting girders for the flyover, the heavy crane suddenly lost its balance and toppled to the ground.
