The Delhi Police officials have revealed that the 16-year-old girl, who was gangraped in a moving bus in Noida, tried to get off the bus, but the conductor allegedly pulled her back inside.
According to the victim's statement cited in a report by The Indian Express, the girl told the accused that she wanted to go to Sector 63, to which they told her the vehicle was heading in the same direction.
When she realised that she was the lone passenger in the bus, she tried to get off the bus. However, the conductor pulled her back inside, and the bus started its journey.
The Delhi Police have found serious lapses in the bus, like a missing panic button and CCTV cameras, and multiple challans. The investigators are now planning to pursue the case in a fast-track court.
The police team have also written to the Forensic Science Laboratory for expediting the biological sample examination like semen and hair strands. On August 4, the girl from UP's Mainpuri was heading to Noida Sector 63. However, she deboarded at Greater Noida's Pari Chowk over confusion.
While she was standing in the rain, the sleeper bus stopped near her. She boarded the bus after being convinced. The bus had curtains, because of which nothing was possible to be seen from outside.
The driver of the bus (Kuldeep) and conductor (Sandeep), allegedly took turns and raped her inside the moving bus during an approximate 47 km journey that ended near the Kashmiri Gate ISBT.
The girl was allegedly abandoned there. She moved to the police station and filed a complaint. The accused were arrested, and the bus was impounded for forensic examination.
NCW urges strict punishment, Human rights body issues notices to Delhi, GB Nagar Police Commissioners
The Chairperson of the National Commission for Women (NCW), Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar, on Wednesday urged the strictest punishment against the accused involved in the crime to set a deterrent for other potential offenders.
Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of the incident. The human rights body issued notices to the police commissioners of Delhi and Gautam Buddha Nagar and the Superintendent of Police, Mainpuri, seeking a detailed report within two weeks.

The NHRC said the report should include the status of the investigation and details of compensation, if any, paid to the victim.
