CM Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday held a Bihar Cabinet meeting in Patna and approved 13 proposals. The decisions will have a direct impact on sectors like health, women and child development, industry, power and fisheries.
The biggest relief has been provided to patients who were unable to access treatment due to financial constraints. Several important decisions have also been taken to promote employment and entrepreneurship.
More people to get government aid for treatment
The Cabinet has increased the annual income limit of the Chief Minister's Medical Assistance Fund to Rs 4 lakh, up from Rs 2.50 lakh earlier.
The government believes that with this decision, a larger number of needy patients will be able to get financial assistance for the treatment of serious diseases. This is expected to provide great relief to middle and low-income group families.

CDPO recruitment changes
An amendment to the Bihar Child Development Services Rules has also been approved. Many posts of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) were lying vacant for a long time as there were not enough women supervisors available for promotion.
Now, for once, it has been decided to fill these posts through direct recruitment through the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
This is expected to accelerate the implementation of ICDS schemes.
Rs 164.51 crore for micro food industries
The state government has approved Rs 164.51 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises scheme. Under the scheme, individual entrepreneurs will get a grant of 35 per cent of the project cost up to Rs 10 lakh.
Cluster-based units will also be given the benefit of capital grants. The government aims to promote new investment and employment in the food processing sector.
Electricity consumers' complaints will be resolved promptly
In one of the most important decisions related to the Energy Department, the formation of a two-tier Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum under the Bihar State Power Holding Company has been approved.
New posts of Chief Engineer and Electrical Superintendent will also be created. This will enable faster resolution of electricity consumer complaints.
Decisions to promote industry and investment
The Council of Ministers has approved financial incentives to Madhubani-based M/s Leap Agri Logistics Private Limited under the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Rules.
The government hopes this would boost industrial activities in the region and increase employment opportunities at the local level.
Modern aqua park will be built in Bhojpur
The Cabinet has approved the establishment of an Integrated Aquaculture Park at Banasur Fish Seed Project in Bhojpur district at a cost of Rs 31.20 crore.
This project, to be built under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, will involve both the central and state governments. This will provide a new direction to the fisheries sector and increase employment opportunities.
