The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Thursday made a call for a nationwide peaceful protest, three days after a massive march to Parliament which saw thousands of students and other protestors.

The CJP called upon the students and civil society groups to hold demonstrations across all the districts, managing permissions and logistics. In a post on the official Instagram page, the CJP appealed for a coordinated protest across the country under the slogan, "Every District. One Day. One Demand."

The social media satire-turned mass movement said that the July 24 demonstrations across the country would be held in solidarity with victims of alleged police brutality during the ongoing protest against examination irregularities.

The CJP poster shared in an Instagram post urged the student unions and other civil society organisations to get necessary permissions and organise peaceful gatherings in all the districts.

The CJP also urged the participants to read out the demands being raised by it in the gatherings. The CJP added that a detailed standard operating procedure (SOP), collaterals and a memorandum template had been made available on its website for assistance to the organisers.

Earlier on Monday, the first day of the monsoon session, the CJP held a protest march to Parliament, Sansad Chalo, against the NEET paper leak, pushing its demands for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. 

The protest, touted to be peaceful, saw violence as a scuffle broke out between protestors and the police at various places. At least 60 protestors and 118 cops were injured in the protest march, while 15-20 vehicles were vandalised. Tear gas shelling and lathi charge were carried out by the police and RAF, while protestors resorted to stone pelting.

The conflicting claims have been made on which side turned violent first. The fresh protest call urges organisations to seek permissions, which gains significance as, a day before the protest march to Parliament, the Delhi Police had clarified that no permission was sought and granted and restrictions under BNSS 163 were in effect as the session was to start.

The CJP has maintained that the protest would continue until the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan.
