Jagran Correspondent, Lucknow: Indian Railways is preparing to run two more special trains to Delhi for return journeys from Lucknow after Diwali. The Railways will submit this proposal to the Railway Board after reviewing the status of advance reservations. A team has also been formed to monitor the waiting lists for regular and special trains.

Those travelling home to celebrate Diwali on November 8 have already booked their tickets 60 days in advance. Confirmed seats in both AC and non-AC classes for trains departing Sunday at 5 am and Monday at 8 am on November 6 were booked.

Passengers, frustrated by the long waiting list, tried on Tuesday for November 7. As a result, the waiting list for the AC chair car of the Vande Bharat Express from Anand Vihar reached 277 and the waiting list for the Shatabdi Express reached 261.

Waiting For AC Express's AC 3rd Is More Than 130

The waiting period for the Tejas Express and AC Express's third AC class exceeded 130. The Lucknow Mail's status was similar in all classes. The Railways had already opened bookings for the festival special trains this year. These trains are also full. The railways anticipate that the demand for trains coming to Lucknow from Delhi and other cities will be as high as the demand for trains returning from Lucknow. In such a case, at least two special trains originating from Lucknow to Delhi will be needed.
