The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has initiated the procurement of 90 new coaches to support the ongoing expansion of Magenta Line under Phase IV and VI(A). These coaches will be configured into 15 six-coach train sets specifically for the upcoming Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor. A formal tender has already been invited for this project.
The corporation has invited bids for the design, manufacture, supply, testing and commissioning of these cars for the Magenta Line (Line 8) extension, with the project slated for completion in 204 weeks, a tender document said.

Phase IV: Development of the Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor.
Phase 5(A): A proposed extension from RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha via Central Vista.
Upon completion, the Magenta Line will reach a total length of approximately 89 kilometers, making it the longest corridor in the entire Delhi Metro network.
