Delhi Woman Had Liquor With Husband At Night, Found Dead Without Clothes In Morning At Mussoorie Homestay

Mussoorie, Uttarakhand: A 27-year-old woman from Delhi was found dead in a mysterious incident at a private homestay in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, just two days after she had arrived on vacation with her husband.

The deceased, P Radha Gayatri, was an IT professional employed with a Gurugram-based firm. Police said she was discovered dead on Monday at a homestay situated along the Mussoorie-Dhanaulti road. She lived in Kidwai Nagar East, Delhi.

Officials stated that Gayatri had checked into the Kiana Homestay in Tipridhar late on Sunday night with her husband, Soumya Sricharan, who also works in the IT sector in Pune.

What happened inside the homestay?

Police received a call on Monday morning reporting an unresponsive woman at the property. Emergency responders reached the spot, where a pharmacist accompanying the ambulance declared her dead.

Preliminary findings suggest the couple had travelled from Delhi to Rishikesh on June 13 before reaching the homestay and checking into a room named 'Bliss' around 11:30 pm the following night. The husband told police that they had consumed alcohol and gone to sleep around 3:30 am.

He further stated that when he woke up in the morning, he found his wife unresponsive in a puddle of urine, with blood oozing from her nose. The couple had married on November 8, 2025, and both originally hail from Visakhapatnam, police said.

"The body of the deceased was found on the floor without clothes, and bloodstains were observed on the bedsheet. Two empty liquor bottles and food items were recovered from the room," the police said in a statement.

The body was sent to Coronation Hospital in Dehradun for post-mortem examination. Authorities have requested that the autopsy be conducted by a panel of doctors under camera.

Circle Officer Manoj Aswal told PTI that the woman’s family has been informed and was expected to reach from Visakhapatnam later in the day.

"We have sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Things will become clear only after the post-mortem report is received," he said.
