Delhi Traffic Advisory: A massive traffic disruption was reported in Southeast Delhi on Tuesday after emergency repair work began on a damaged Delhi Jal Board (DJB) pipeline near Ashram Chowk.
Despite a detailed advisory issued by the Delhi Traffic Police on Monday, ground reports on Tuesday pointed to weak traffic management and inadequate police deployment at several critical junctions, worsening the situation for commuters.
Long traffic jams stretching for over an hour were seen across several key corridors of the city. Many commuters expressed frustration on social media, highlighting severe delays and congestion. However, responses from traffic authorities were limited, and relief measures appeared insufficient to address the growing bottlenecks.
Traffic Advisory: Key Road Closure
Due to emergency repair work on a damaged 1200 mm diameter Delhi Jal Board pipeline near Ashram Chowk, the Ring Road stretch between Maharani Bagh and Ashram will remain closed from 10:00 PM on 15.06.2026 for approximately 3-4 days.
Commuters travelling towards Ashram Chowk, Faridabad, Noida, and nearby areas have been advised to use designated alternate routes, avoid the affected stretch, and plan their journeys with extra travel time.
