Delhi Rape-Murder News: The former house help, accused of raping and murdering 22-year-old daughter of an IRS officer in South Delhi’s Amar Colony, has confessed that he dragged the victim in an unconscious state from the rooftop room after assault and attempted to open the biometric locker using her fingerprint.

Accused Rahul Meena stated that despite bringing the victim to the lower floor, he was unable to open the locker with her blood-stained finger, an India Today report quoted police sources as saying.

How Did The Accused Open The Locker?

After the biometric rejected the victim’s fingerprint, the accused forced open the locker using a screwdriver, as per the report. He then went on to steal cash and jewellery, keeping it in a bag from inside the house and left.

Rs 2 Lakh Missing From IRS Officer’s Home

Cash worth Rs 2 lakh was reported missing from the IRS officer’s house, as per news agency PTI. Officials stated that the accused was well aware of the location of items in the house.

According to Jagran.com, citing police sources, the accused had earlier been involved in a similar rape case in Rajasthan along with two other men. Meena was dismissed from his job approximately a month and a half ago after being accused of misappropriating funds by inflating the prices of household supplies he purchased.

The IRS officer and his wife had gone to the gym on Wednesday morning. When the couple returned home, they discovered their daughter was dead. Reports suggest that the accused killed the woman by strangling her with a mobile phone charger cable. She was an engineering graduate and was preparing for the UPSC examinations.
