Delhi Rape Case: Rahul Meena, accused of raping and killing the daughter of a senior IRS officer in Delhi, has reportedly claimed that he entered the house with the purpose of borrowing money. The 19-year-old, during the interrogation, stated that he killed his former boss' daughter unintentionally, adding that the incident would not have occurred if she had offered the money, reported NDTV. The Delhi police have launched a detailed probe into the matter to unearth the exact reasons behind the incident.
The accused stated that he came to Delhi to borrow money from his former bosses and return to Rajasthan's Alwar. "Agar didi paise de deti to aisa nahi hota (If sister had given the money, this would not have happened)," he told the investigators, reported NDTV. While he entered the house due to familiarity, he was confronted by the IIT graduate (victim) who was preparing for the civil services examination.

On being asked about his presence, the accused lied by stating that he was contacted by the victim's mother for some work. Meena asked for financial assistance from the 22-year-old aspirant; however, he turned violent when she denied. He reportedly attacked the victim with the hard objects available at the site and allegedly raped her while she was unconscious.
The accused dragged her body to a different floor to use her fingerprint to take money. However, he had to break the safe as her fingerprints did not work, possibly due to her demise by then. The accused earlier worked for the IRS officer at a monthly salary of Rs 20,000; however, he was asked to leave due to his habit of borrowing money from the neighbours.
As per the reports, the accused was a bright student and even obtained over 90 per cent in class 12. His family had high expectations; however, he later got addicted to gambling, leading to massive financial loss.
