- DTC announced alternative bus routes for monsoon waterlogging.
- Diversions for Minto Road, Prahladpur, Zakhira, Azad Market.
- Plan aims to minimize traffic disruptions in flood-prone areas.
To minimise disruptions caused by waterlogging during the monsoon, the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has introduced an alternative route plan for buses operating through flood-prone underpasses in the national capital.
As per DTC, traffic will be diverted as and when waterlogging occurs in the Minto Road Bridge, Prahladpur underpass, Zakhira underpass or Azad Market underpass. Diverted traffic will also be on alternative routes in the returning journeys until normal conditions are resumed.
Minto Road Bridge Diversion
If water stagnates around Minto Road Bridge, a bus leaving Connaught Circle for Deendayal Upadhyay Marg will go via Super Bazaar, Barakhamba Road, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Flyover and Ramlila Maidan.

During return, the buses towards Connaught Circle from Deendayal Upadhyay Marg would pass through Kamla Market, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Flyover and Barakhamba Road.
Prahladpur Underpass Diversion
Commuters travelling towards Badarpur Border from Sangam Vihar and Ambedkar Nagar buses will be diverted through MB Road, Maa Anandmayi Marg, Kalkaji Depot, Kalkaji Mandir, Modi Mill Flyover, Sukhdev Vihar Depot and Mathura Road in case of waterlogging at Prahladpur Underpass.
Mathura Road, Okhla Tank, Modi Mill Flyover, Govindpuri Metro Station, Kalkaji Depot and Maa Anandmayi Marg would be followed by buses on a return journey from the Badarpur Border.
Zakhira Underpass Diversion
In case Zakhira Underpass is submerged, bus routes from Moti Nagar/Karampura to Zakhira shall be diverted via Rohtak Road, Punjabi Bagh, Britannia Chowk, Lawrence Road, Keshav Puram A-1, Maharaja Nahar Singh Marg, and Inderlok Metro Station.
Additionally, buses that usually pass beneath the Zakhira Flyover from Punjabi Bagh will instead use the Zakhira Flyover and Sarai Rohilla Chowk in both directions.
Azad Market Underpass Diversion
During waterlogging at the Azad Market Underpass, buses will be diverted via Ashok Park, Zakhira Bridge, Sarai Rohilla, Old Rohtak Road and Filmistan before rejoining their scheduled routes in both directions.
The DTC also said that Route No. 247 buses will follow the same diversion beyond Shastri Nagar whenever the alternate route plan is activated.
